In recently years, the one
thing that lost it’s image or importance is the lipsticks. The product itself
went through a lot of innovation and R&D. To replace the lame title
“lipstick”, many new and attractive names are given to the product; tints, stains,
tar, balm, butter, crayon, etc.
This year, the effed up
product has been lip tint, and to carry on the multi-tasking band-vegan, the
product is developed as “lip and cheek” tint.
Two high-end cosmetic
companies are leading the genre in this regard;
The Benefit – Benetint,
and,
The Body Shop – Lip and
Cheek Tint
As I mentioned they are
high-ends brands so they generously priced. Secondly, since the consistence of
these tints runny, they do not last very long.
Just to try my hands on
one of these products, I recently got my hands on The Benefit Benetint. I will
do a separate review on the product soon.
Here I have come up with
an economical solution to make your own lip tint. Once again with only few
ingredients you can save a heck load of money and invest it to other beauty
products. So here goes the recipe:
1. Few drops of Red/Orange/Voilet
food color
2. Few drops of Rose Water
3. Pea size glycerin or
petroleum Jelly
4. Empty lip-gloss
container
Mix the above three
ingredient in small proportion, remember patience is the virtue, to reach the
semi runny consistency of the tint is important. First mix glycerin and rose
water, then add food color. When the desired stain is reached, store it in the
empty, sterilized lip-gloss container.
Variation:
If you are reluctant to
use food color, use strawberry flavor jelly-o. But you have to be very care and
patient in order to maintain the consistency of your tint.
I would appreciate if you
share your view and suggestions. Do share pictures of your DIY Lip Tint.
Cheers,
Shaxia
